Theus in Chrome

Your agent drivesthe browser too.

The official extension connects Theus (the CLI) with Chrome, Brave, Edge, Arc and other Chromium browsers: the agent can list your tabs, open and navigate pages, read their content and automate web tasks — always under your permissions and over a 100% local channel.

Installation

The CLI guides the installation itself: run /chrome inside Theus and it installs the connector, opens the exact browser screen for you and leaves the extension's path on your clipboard — two clicks and you are done. You need Theus 1.2.2 or newer: in earlier versions the folder did not travel with the program. If you are on an older one, update with theus update.

It is not in the Chrome Web Store yet, so it loads unpacked with the browser's developer mode switched on. The identifier is fixed, so it does not change between installations.

What it can do

  1. List and open tabs, and navigate to a URL.

  2. Read the visible text of a page in order to work with it.

  3. Find elements and run JavaScript in the tab you point it at.

The permissions it asks for, and why

  • Native messaging

    It is the cable to the CLI on your machine. Without it there is no connection.

  • Tabs

    To list them and open them when you ask the agent to.

  • Running scripts on pages

    To read a page's text or interact with it, only on the tab the agent is working on.

Privacy

The extension sends no data to any server: it talks only to the Theus CLI installed on your own machine, over the browser's native messaging. It collects no analytics, does not track your browsing and does not store page content. What the agent reads from a page is used in your Theus session exactly like any file on your disk, under the general privacy policy at theus.pe/legal/privacidad.
